Maniototo community is riding the success of the first Winter Games to be held in NZ.  After hosting the curling contingent of the Games in Naseby, Maniototo Curling International Inc can be proud of it’s professionalism and ‘flare’.  Over 10 days in August, Interntational media, commentators and sports people converged on Maniototo to compete in this traditional sport infamous in the area.   The modernisation of curling has brought about slick delivery, media booths and all year training, however, many of the customs and etiquette still remain.

What’s even more unique about curling is that anyone of us can ‘Have a Go’.  Any beginner will have their stone sliding gracefully along the ice and into the ‘house’ in no time. There are many forms of delivery – one for the kids, wheelchair bound and, of course, one for the ‘first timer’.

Maniototo Curling International Inc is open ALL year and the indoor rink offers lounge and bar facilities.  So, as the temperatures heat up, come for a cooling curl in Naseby.
